FAQs

  • “Perinatal” simply means the time period around birth, usually referring to pregnancy and postpartum. The broader definition of perinatal mental health encompasses mental health concerns that relate to all stages of your parenthood journey from trying to conceive up to 2 years postpartum. As a perinatal mental health specialist, I also help families navigate challenges such as infertility and loss.

  • While postpartum depression is the most well-known postpartum mental health concern, there are many mental health concerns that can arise during pregnancy and postpartum. I help moms struggling with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and other problems that may develop at any point in your journey to parenthood. This includes pre-conception, struggles with infertility, during pregnancy, postpartum, or following a loss.

  • Many women experience losses at some point in their motherhood journey, and this type of heartache is especially painful and difficult to navigate. I have specialized training in perinatal loss and would be honored to walk with you as you grieve. Counseling is the perfect place to process painful parts of your story and better understand all the feelings you may be experiencing in the days, weeks, months, and even years following a loss. Counseling can also help with navigating another pregnancy after a loss.

  • I regularly support couples who want to grow in their partnership during the transition to parenthood. I've helped couples navigate family planning issues, pregnancy and birth-related trauma, & miscarriages and losses. I also enjoy helping couples strengthen their relationship and work through common challenges of early parenthood.

    I offer traditional weekly couples counseling. Additionally, I would love to create a customized couples retreat experience for you and your partner.
